Next Community Council Meeting March 30th 2021

The next Community Council meeting takes place on-line this Tuesday 30th March 2021. Please send us a message on the contact us section for joining instructions.

Some of our agenda items include – the consultation for Cnoc na H-Eilde, planning applications, the local police report and an update from Kilmartin Museum and Dunadd Community Enterprise.

All members of the public are welcome.

We have awarded all the funding for the Dunadd Community Grant. However there is still the possibility to apply to MO-MA in Lochgilphead, who can organise emergency food parcels and starter packs.

Dunadd Community Support Fund

This Fund Is Now Closed

We have applied for more funding and hope to reopen the fund as a covid 19 recovery funding, at present we are waiting for notification of the outcome of this application.

Dunadd Community Enterprise and Community Council have been able to secure limited funding to support the community during the Covid 19 crisis.

Part of this fund is available to Dunadd residents, who are struggling at the present moment, please share this information and please encourage people to apply.

The fund is being distributed in £60 cash handouts to households and residents who are struggling at the present time, and is aimed to support families with food and essentials, electricity key cards etc, however other financial pressures can be applied for.

West Coast Motors – Helping Communities

As a key service in your community, we recognise bus is for many the only way to access shops for food, prescriptions and other essentials. It also provides a vital service for critical and essential workers.

Last week we introduced free travel to all NHS staff and care workers who are working flat out during these times, but I think we could do a lot more to help around the community. I have personally spoke with a few of the local businesses to set up a delivery service for getting the essentials to places like Achnamara, Crinan, Kilmichael, Slockavullin, Ormsary and Ford these business are happy to take the order over the phone and our vehicles will stop by on route and pick anything up and take the supplies to these places.

The citylink services have been stepped down to one service instead of the five services a day, so the local communities in Lochgair, Minard, Furnace and Inveraray may struggle on getting the essentials. I’m currently working on trying to introduce a service what will enable anyone to get into Lochgilphead to pick anything up and get back home again with a short timeframe, I hoping to have this in place by the middle of this week. This will also open the door to delivering to these communities on route!

Argyll and Bute Council helpline number

Argyll and Bute Council has launched a single helpline number for citizens to contact the council and other partnership agencies with needs arising from the current coronavirus situation. The helpline number will be operated during normal business hours and is 01546 605524. Queries that will be addressed include Financial, Business, Health, Education, Registration and Social & Homecare Needs. Individuals can also use the helpline to volunteer.
